Beginning a day of shopping with the ladies, we decided to stop for lunch first at this colorful Mexican establishment that we'd all been wanting to try.

Menu:
We skimmed the menu before being seated, making sure that this was well within our budget and the selections, while not very many, seemed appetizing. After being seated and having more of an opportunity to study the menu, it did not seem that this Mexican eatery had many Mexican food options that one would normally expect to find. Flatbreads and Burgers? These selections seemed out of place to me. There was a "Mexican buffet" being advertised for a dollar more then the steak fajitas, but after inspection, it seemed like the food may have been sitting out for a bit.. I finally settled on the steak fajitas, a tex-mex classic that is hard to botch.

Service:
Our waitress, while somewhat pleasant, was not very attentive to our needs and failed to refill our drinks on multiple occasions. (Although after seeing the unsanitary practice of touching the water nozzle to the inside of the glasses while refilling them, we were not too upset...) Our meals came out in a timely matter, and there didn't seem to be anything missing, except for guacamole. Who eats fajitas without guacamole? No big deal.. I asked for a side of guacamole and it was brought to me immediately. I also noticed that my fajitas did not come with rice or beans, that which I am also used to having come with fajitas... but I digress...

Food:
We started off with chips and salsa that were very tasty and flavorful. Soon after, the signature faraway sizzle of fajitas was heard as our food was served, the aroma was intriguing. I prepared my first fajita and prepared to dig in. The steak was fatty and somewhat tasteless, although the vegetables it was cooked with were pretty good. I was impressed that they gave me more then just 2 measly flour tortillas, but I was not feeling the steak so I ended up not using all my tortillas. I can't deny that I missed the rice and beans inside of the fajita, it might have saved the day.

Bill:
  • Beef Fajitas: $14.99
  • Soda: $2.25
  • Small Guacamole: $3.99
  • 1/3 Chips & Salsa: $0.66
  • Total with tax: $23.32
I have to say that was a very expensive meal for just one person, especially considering the fact that the steak was not-so-great. If the fajitas were actually great, I wouldn't have mind paying for it, but since the steak sucked, it didn't come with rice and beans, and I had to pay four dollars extra for a small side of guacamole with my fajitas (wtf?)... It really hurt having to pay for this meal. And don't get me started on the billing for the chips and salsa.. someone else ordered it and we were never asked how or IF we wnte the split up. $0.66 becomes much more of an issue when everything else pretty much sucked.

Final Rating:
1 out of 5 stars

Would only go here again if it was Christmas day and I was starving and it was the only food establishment (including 7-11) open.
